Day 1: Welcome to Casco Antiguo and the Central Hotel!

The oldest section of Panama City known as Casco Viejo (Old Town) was founded in 1673 just two years after the original Panama City was torched during an invasion by the infamous Pirate Henry Morgan. It is only about 5 miles from the ruins of Panama la Vieja but is a world apart. Nestled in the heart of Casco Viejo is the Central Hotel which was built nearly 150 years ago. It faces the beautiful Plaza de la Independencia and was the first hotel in Panama at the time of its opening in 1874. It quickly became a meeting place for intrepid travelers and its clientele has included the French builders who constructed the Panama Canal, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt and Count Ferdinand de Lesseps.

This morning we will get an early start to begin our Real Estate tour of Panama’s Pacific Beaches. Just an hour and a half away from Panama City along the Panamerican Highway lies Coronado, which will be our first stop. Coronado is Panama’s most popular and highly developed beach community. It is also the only true beach community along the Pacific Coast. Coronado is affordable, has an excellent infrastructure in place, and offers all of the modern conveniences and amenities expected from a world-class beach community. There is a country club, a couple of golf courses, several upscale supermarkets that are open 24 hours, and a few high-end malls.

Day 6: Private Guided Azuero Peninsula Culture and Folklore Tour

In the morning, discover the manufacturing process of the traditional product of the Herrera Province: sugarcane, salt, clay and bread. Experience the many use of sugarcane: from refreshing sugarcane juice called “Guarapo”, traditional cooking of sugarcane honey to the production of artisanal sugarcane liquor; seeing the extraction of salt from the Pacific Ocean. Visiting the production of handmade clay pottery; and learning how the famous La Arena bread is baked.

Lunch will be served at a traditional “Fonda” which is a local restaurant where you will be able to taste traditional snackes and dishes from the Azuero Peninsula.

Day 7: Private Guided Pedasi Beaches Real Estate Tour

You will be picked up this morning around 08:30 for the hour and 15 minute transfer to Pedasi which will be the primary basis of the Real Estate Tour today. Though not for long, Pedasi is still one of Panama’s best kept secrets. But it won’t be long as expats are discovering the charm and tranquility of retiree living in what is still a sleepy little seaside town. Surrounded by green pastures and spectacular countryside vistas, the center of town is also only a 5-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean. There are three gorgeous beaches that are unspoiled and completely unaffected by development. Pedasi may just be the finest rural meets beach living that you can find in Panama.

Day 9: Private Transfer to Boca Chica with en Route Stop at Las Lajas Beach

We will begin today’s journey to Boca Chica by crossing through the entire Azuero Peninsula and then continuing west on the Panamerican Highway. We will break up the approximate 6-hour trip by stopping at a few nice beaches along the way. Las Lajas is certainly the best we’ll find with its beautifully wide grayish-black volcanic sand, tubular waves that are perfect for surfing, and an abundance of freshly caught seafood. You will feel at home once we arrive at We’ll have the opportunity to walk the beach, swim the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean, and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared to order. Following lunch you will have use of the pool and lounge chairs where you can simply rest or sip on a cold beer or cocktail from the adjacent bar.

Day 10: Private Introduction to Boca Chica Realty Tour and Traditional Lunch with the Ngabe Bugle

Boca Chica is another one of Panama’s best kept secrets that we hope will stay that way for a long time to come. It has a tiny population of less than 1,000 people so it offers expats a relaxed and tranquil lifestyle on the coast. Sun and fun type activities naturally revolve around the water and include snorkeling, deep-sea and inland fishing, scuba diving, fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Not surprisingly, Boca Chica is famous for its fresh fish.

Day 11: Chiriqui National Marine Park Private Snorkeling and Island Hopping Tour

After we leave the marina, we’ll pass through the mangrove forested islands of Laguna de Chiriqui as we make our way toward Golfo de Chiriqui National Marine Park, a 14,740 hectares Marine Park that encompasses many uninhabited islands and serves as a refuge for howler monkeys, leatherback and hawksbill turtles, tiger herons, and scores of exotic fish. We’ll go to a few of our favorite snorkeling spots and pass the day exploring, swimming, relaxing in a hammock and playing on the white sand beaches of Isla Bolaños or Isla Gamez.

Day 12: Flight to Panama City and Transfer to Hilton Hotel Panama

The Hilton Panama Hotel boasts one of the most spectacular locations in all of Panama City situated across the street from the Cinta Costera with postcard perfect views of the skyscrapers of Panama City in one direction and colonial Casco Viejo, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in another direction.
