Guanacaste and Nicoya Coast
Sun worshippers flock to this region – known for it’s amazing beaches. Playa Carillo is possibly the most beautiful beach in the country and Playa Flamingo and Playa Negra are popular surfing spots. The Guanacaste and Nicoya Peninsula is one of the most developed areas of Costa Rica, with luxurious resorts lining the picturesque shores. This region is also home to Palo Verde National Park, a wild expanse of wetlands, mangroves and savanna and one of the best destinations in the country for bird watching.
Surrounded by thick forest, the pool at the base of the Montezuma waterfall is deep, cool and perfect for swimming. This region also offers amazing scuba diving, with the chance to see moray eels, sea turtles, sharks and rays.
